Job Summary

The Assistant Vice President of Analytics Communications supports the Office of the Provost and Global Marketing and Communications through the development of analytics systems and the execution and deployment of communications designed to benefit the management of Northwestern University's academic reputation. Working closely with the Office of Institutional Research, this role is responsible for leading data-driven communication strategies and ensuring effective stakeholder engagement through innovative analytics. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Administration, with a dotted line to the Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications, this role involves collaborating with various university units and departments to support decision-making processes and improve operational efficiency. This role facilitates and executes effective data communications targeted to various stakeholders and audiences, with a particular emphasis on improving the University's domestic and global reputation.

Job Description

Key aspects of this role include but are not limited to:

• Design and develop the infrastructure to facilitate the University's executive messaging to external constituents including peers, key employers and academic audiences.

• Development of analytics systems and reporting models designed to measure and improve the University's reputation with key stakeholders.

• Help create granular analytics and competitive analyses of peer institutions.

• Help establish predictive models on and external communications around the rankings of universities and disciplines.

• Create and oversee a benchmarking system for communication that informs University leadership and presidential communications.

• Collaborate across units, working closely with the Office of Institutional Research (OIR) to improve across key, identifiable metrics.

• Serve as the main liaison between the OGMC and OIR, enabling optimum communications around rankings and other key indicators.

• Help OGMC improve existing methods of reporting and analyzing media and digital data and supplement reporting efforts with the integration of institutional data.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Minimum of ten years of applicable experience in academic rankings management

• Ability to build partnerships across university teams

• Minimum of 5 years of market research experience with a combination of designing studies, analyzing results and overseeing external firm's execution

• Deep understanding of Higher Education's domestic and global trends

• Strong analytical background with a track-record of processing institutional, public and marketing datasets

Target hiring range for this position will be between $200,000-230,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
