Job Summary
KCHA has an exceptional opportunity for a deeply skilled professional to join the leadership team in the Property Management Department as Assistant Vice President of Property Management - Administration.
The AVP of Property Management - Administration (AVP) assists the Senior Vice President of Property Management (SVP) in providing the administrative oversight for the Property Management Department, which is responsible for KCHA's owned and managed federally subsidized housing programs. The AVPs primary responsibilities include supervision, development and guidance of the Regional Managers, establishing and applying consistent operating procedures, and maintaining high customer service standards across all portfolios. Additionally, the AVP will collaborate heavily with the AVP of Property Management - Maintenance in creating standards and expectations related to effective management of site-based maintenance crews.

Understands technical aspects of the position and continuously builds knowledge, keeping up to date on the substantive and procedural aspects of the position including the ability to:
Knowledge of KCHA and related industry and department policies, practices, and procedures; related industry, organization, and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances, and laws.
Experience supervising staff including coaching and mentoring to support employees in achieving Authority and individual goals; demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership in a dynamic, highly regulated work environment.
Proven success in building productive and engaged work teams with a focus on mentoring and nurturing staff development.
Exceptional program management skills including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Communicates plans and activities with leadership, colleagues and staff in a manner that supports strategies for involvement and accomplishment of mission and outcomes via multiple methods.
Analyzes and develops effective policies and procedures;
Presents proposals and recommendations clearly, logically and persuasively;
Interprets and explains complex data analyses and research findings for technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong critical-thinking skills; ability to evaluate information, implement timely decisions and make recommendations.
Cultural sensitivity and competency, which is essential in serving economically disadvantaged, diverse populations, including homeless and special needs households, with a particular focus on households that often fall through the community-based safety net.
Utilizes excellent time management and problem-solving techniques, and use of professional judgment in complex situations.
Healthy level of knowledge with budget development, planning, analysis, and tracking.
Knowledge of and familiarity with Housing Management Information Software (HMIS); familiarity with current system and suite of accessory software tools (i.e. Adobe, DocuSign, OnBase); proficiency with MS Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and database software.

Salary range is $144,695.00 to $202,571.78, with a midpoint of $173,632.95. Work Environment:
After initial onboarding, this role will have the opportunity to work remotely up to 60% in accordance with the KCHAs flexible work arrangements; however, remote work conditions will be reviewed on a regular basis based on business and program need. The ability to report to the Central Office in Tukwila may still be required on occasion. Some local travel may be required to support KCHA business needs.
