Assistant Volleyball Coach (Part-time) Location Lenoir Community College 231 Hwy 58 South Kinston, NC Job Type Part-time Job Number 01496 Division Student Services Department Student Services Dept Opening Date 11/19/2025 Closing Date Continuous General Function The Assistant Volleyball Coach (Part-time) will assist the Head Volleyball Coach in coaching, recruiting, counseling, conditioning, and evaluating for the athletic team as directed.This position will remain open until filled. Qualifications High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and related work experience or an associates degree from an institutionally accredited college or university is preferredOne-two years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level and/or have a background of volleyball at a high levelDemonstrate experience in training and instructing athletes in the game of volleyballExperience in managing a sports team, knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations; travel and non-traditional hours Must have a valid NC drivers licenseThe candidate must not be currently enrolled at Lenoir Community College as a studentWorking ConditionsWork irregular hours periodically Duties are normally performed in a school/gym environment indoorsDuties may be performed away from school Essential Functions and Responsibilities The duties of the Assistant Volleyball Coach include, but are not limited to:Assist the head coach in the organization and supervision of practices and contestsMaintain standards of performance consistent with departmental academic and athletic expectations as reflected in the mission statement, goals, objectives, departmental guidelines, and performance appraisal proceduresAttend and participate in department and staff meetings as requested/requiredEngage in fund-raising activities for the program in conjunction with the head coach, athletic advancement and its representativesWork closely with others to include all students, staff, parents, media, and community representatives involved in LCC AthleticsMaintain as appropriate effective relationships with parents, alumni, friends of the program, and others toward the positive image and promotion of the programRemain in full compliance with NJCAA, Region 10, and Lenoir Community College rulesComply with all NJCAA rules and regulations, and acknowledges this compliance as part of an annual evaluation processAssist in analyzing performance of team and adjust strategies as needed Assist in evaluating opponents and developing game strategies Assist with the administration of policies and procedures with respect to academic expectations for team members Assist in the communication with academic advising staff regarding athletic academic performance Assist in meeting with athletes on performance issues, study skills, and techniques for academic success Assist in reporting scores in a timely manner to all score reporting areas Recruit student athletes in the high schools primarily within N.C. and adhere to the recruiting rules established by the NJCAA Attend all practices, trips and scheduled competitions including evenings and weekendsAssist in maintaining adequate records, statistics, scores, etc. of game results and student athletes participation records and accomplishments Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance Assist in managing the equipment inventory and related duties as directed Drive passenger van if needed Represent the college, the athletic department, and the community in a positive manner Must demonstrate program administration responsibility; will be evaluated by the Head Volleyball Coach/Athletic Director/Dean of Student ServicesRead, understand, and abide by the current National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Constitution and Bylaws, the Region X Constitution and Bylaws, and the sport rule book as identified in the NJCAA Constitution and Bylaws Adhere to the rules and regulations of Lenoir Community College Perform any and all other related duties as assigned or directed in order to promote, further, and ensure the effective and efficient operation of Lenoir Community College Notice of Nondiscrimination Lenoir Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
