Assistant Warehouse Manager
Pay: $50,000–$60,000 per year
Job Description
Job Summary
RS Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to support daily warehouse operations and assist the Warehouse Manager in leading a high-performing team. This role is responsible for overseeing receiving, inventory control, shipping, order fulfillment, safety compliance, and employee performance while ensuring operational efficiency and exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with warehouse supervisory experience who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily warehouse operations.
Supervise, train, and coach warehouse associates.
Coordinate receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
Monitor productivity and ensure customer deadlines are met.
Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and inventory audits.
Enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
Monitor warehouse KPIs and operational performance.
Coordinate with Purchasing, Logistics, and Customer Service teams.
Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and employee development.
Recommend process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Maintain accurate records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 3 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Forklift operating experience.
Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook).
Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
Forklift Certification.
Lean or Six Sigma experience.
Bilingual is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
