Position Summary
Our Henderson warehouse receives, stores and ships finished goods to our third-party logistics network and international markets. It also supplies packaging components to our Las Vegas manufacturing facility. The site has no production. Its value-added work is labeling, lot coding, kitting and repacking.
As Assistant Warehouse Manager, you'll report to the Warehouse Manager and lead a crew of 3–4 associates, plus temporary labor during peak season. This is a hands-on role. You'll work the dock and the forklift, post transactions in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and keep the facility ready for FDA, fire and health inspections at all times. Priorities change often, and you'll rebuild the day's plan when they do. You'll run the site when the Warehouse Manager is out.
Essential Duties
- Load and unload trucks by forklift and by hand, and keep the dock on schedule.
- Post and verify inventory transactions in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Training is provided.
- Run cycle counts and keep inventory accurate, including lot tracking and first-expired, first-out rotation.
- Prepare and check shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists and export paperwork.
- Plan and direct labeling, lot coding, kitting and repacking, and run the equipment that does it.
- Work with QA and Regulatory to make sure labels meet FDA and export requirements.
- Supervise, schedule and train a crew of 3–4, plus temporary labor during peak season.
- Keep the site safe, compliant with OSHA and ready for inspection at all times.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Forklift experience, including loading and unloading trucks, with current certification or the ability to certify within 30 days.
- 5+ years of warehouse or distribution experience, including 2+ years as a supervisor or lead.
- Hands-on ERP inventory experience. Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central is strongly preferred; SAP, Oracle or NetSuite experience is considered.
- Working knowledge of receiving, cycle counting, lot control and inventory accuracy.
- Value-added warehouse experience, such as labeling, lot coding, kitting or repacking.
- Familiarity with bills of lading, packing lists and pallet manifests.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures exactly.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lb, stand and walk on concrete for most of the shift, bend, reach overhead and climb ladders.
- Ability to work in areas that are not climate-controlled, and availability for occasional extended hours during peak season, physical inventory and product launches.
Preferred
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics or operations, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in an FDA-inspected food, supplement or pharmaceutical warehouse.
- Experience as the site contact during a regulatory, fire, health or quality inspection.
- Knowledge of FDA supplement labeling and California Proposition 65.
- Export documentation experience.
- Experience working with third-party logistics providers and directing temporary labor.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Lean, 5S or Six Sigma training.
