Assistant Winery Manager – Hospitality & Tasting Assistant Winery Manager – Hospitality & Tasting Room Focus. Position Summary: The Assistant Winery Manager supports the overall operations of the winery with a primary focus on hospitality excellence, tasting room leadership, and guest engagement. This role ensures that every visitor receives a warm, memorable, and brand elevating experience. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Winery Manager to execute daily operations, lead staff, and uphold the winery's service standards.Key Responsibilities Tasting Room & Guest Experience – Lead daily tasting room operations, ensure a welcoming, polished, and guest focused environment. Deliver exceptional hospitality through knowledgeable wine service, storytelling, and brand education. Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and warmth, turning challenges into positive experiences. Maintain tasting room ambiance, cleanliness, and presentation standards.Staff Leadership & Training – Supervise tasting room associates, hosts, and seasonal staff. Train team members on wine knowledge, service etiquette, sales techniques, and POS systems. Model high energy, guest-centric behavior and coach staff to elevate service quality. Assist with scheduling, performance feedback, and onboarding.Sales & Wine Club Engagement – Drive tasting room sales through upselling, club conversions, and personalized recommendations. Support wine club sign ups, member relations, and on‑site member experiences. Assist with club release events, pick up parties, and VIP tastings.Events & Hospitality Operations – Help plan and execute winery events, private tastings, and group experiences. Coordinate with vendors, caterers, and internal teams to ensure seamless event execution. Support setup, breakdown, and guest flow during events.Operational Support – Assist with inventory management, restocking, and merchandise displays. Oversee POS accuracy, cash handling, and daily reconciliation. Support compliance with safety, service, and hospitality standards. Step into broader winery operations as needed, especially during harvest or peak seasons.Qualifications Education & Experience 2–4+ years of hospitality, tasting room, or customer facing experience (wine industry preferred).Experience in supervisory or lead roles strongly preferred.Wine knowledge or certifications (WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, Texas Wine Certification) a plus.Skills & Competencies Exceptional customer service and communication skills.Strong wine knowledge with a passion for educating guests.Ability to lead, motivate, and coach a hospitality team.Comfortable working in a fast paced, guest focused environment.Proficiency with POS systems, reservations platforms, and basic office software.Ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand for extended periods.Work Environment Primarily tasting room and guest facing spaces, with occasional support in cellar or outdoor areas.Weekend, holiday, and event based scheduling required.High interaction with guests, wine club members, and staff.#J-18808-Ljbffr
