Job Description
M State is seeking an individual committed to mentoring student‑athletes and supporting the women’s basketball program as our Assistant Coach. This part‑time position plays a key role in fostering a positive athletic environment, supporting student‑athlete development, and upholding the values of M State and the NJCAA.

Salary
$5,000.00 Stipend/Honorarium (Approximately September - March 15, 2027). Disregard the salary range posted by this website as this position is paid through a stipend/honorarium.

Expectations for all Coaches, Athletic Coordinators, and Community Volunteers

  • Adhere to the NJCAA, MCAC, and affiliated conferences and the College regulations.

  • Create a source of pride to all associated with the College.

  • Promote “Educational Sport” life skills.

  • Provide equitable opportunities regardless of sex, gender, race, or creed.

  • Inspire cooperation, group loyalty, sportsmanship, and school spirit.

  • Develop strong character by supporting student-athletes’ welfare, physical and emotional well-being, social development, progress toward 2 and 4-year graduation, personal growth, and commitment to community service.

  • Be fiscally responsible.

  • Respect and appreciate constituents who have a stake in our mission - examples are: custodial staff, office staff, student workers, game workers and personnel, etc.

  • Represent the College with the utmost integrity, pride, and professionalism.

  • Create a family atmosphere.

  • Continually build relationships with our customers and staff. 

  • Assist in the recruitment of student-athletes

Community Volunteer Duties(May consist of one or more of the following)

  • Ensure all CV-19 protocols are followed per the CDC, MDH, MCAC, NJCAA, MinnState, and M State as applicable.

  • Assist in instructing student athletes in the sport.

  • Assist with score board and statistics responsibilities.

  • Assist with game set up.

  • Assist with practices, games, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Serve as a Campus Security Authority for the college.

Schedule

Pre-season practice begins in September with late afternoon/evening practices. Games fall during the week and weekends. Travel required.
