South Carolina State University, a prestigious institution renowned for its commitment to excellence, is seeking a talented and driven individual to join our Athletic Staff as a Full-Time Women''s Basketball Assistant Coach. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to the growth and success of our student-athletes, both on and off the court.

As a Women''s Basketball Assistant Coach, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our women''s basketball program. You will work closely with the Head Coach, providing valuable insights and strategies to develop and implement comprehensive training programs that foster the physical, mental, and emotional growth of our student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Head Coach in developing and executing game strategies, scouting reports, and practice plans.

2. Contribute to the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes, ensuring a talented and diverse roster.

3. Assist in planning, organizing, and executing basketball camps and clinics.

4. Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship to student-athletes, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and personal growth.

5. Monitor student-athletes'' academic progress and ensure and ensure compliance with NCAA and university regulations.

6. Promote a positive team culture and foster an environment that encourages excellence, sportsmanship, and personal accountability.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• Playing and/or coaching experience in basketball with knowledge of rules, strategies, and game statistics.
• Knowledge of MEAC and NCAA rules and regulations
• CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with diverse student-athletes and prospective student-athletes.

Prefered Qualifications:

• Master''s Degree
• Minimum of 2-3 years collegiate coaching experience
• Collegiate level/ Division I basketball playing and/or coaching experience
• Experience working in a leadership role and/or recruiting responsibilities
• Prior experience with skill instruction, team and game preparation
