    Job Description

    To support the Head Women's Basketball Coach in establishing and successfully coaching a Women's Basketball program within the guidelines of the Grand View University Athletics Department that adheres to the mission of the University.

    Essential Functions of Job:

    • Assist in developing a successful Women's basketball program focused on athletic and academic excellence.
    • Support student-athlete classroom success through academic monitoring and directing all communication concerns to the appropriate administrative and academic lines of communication
    • Reinforce an environment built on adhering to compliance and integrity within the regulations of the University, HEART Conference, and the NAIA
    • Strong understanding of a student-athlete lifestyle/schedule, strong communication skills, and a willingness to engage in effective conversations about new ideas and/or adjustments
    • Experience in evaluation and recruitment, scouting, film breakdown, and on-court training highly preferred
    • Assist in the implementation of practice plans and game day operations for the program and athletic department
    • Create and implement technical instruction, demonstration, and teaching methods for the team and individuals
    • Coordinate meal accommodations and aid in other travel arrangements as needed
    • Aid in the ongoing fundraising endeavors, including organization and community involvement as specified by the Head Coach
    • Collaboratively lead in the creation of social media materials for audience engagement, athlete promotion and marketing initiatives
    1. Perform other duties as assigned.

    2. Follow college procedures associated with the purchase of equipment.

    3. Maintain confidentiality.

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
    • 3+ years of successful coaching experience at the College or High School level required.
    • Knowledge of NAIA regulations, compliance, and recruiting policies.
    • Strong communication skills. Must be able to interact collaboratively with students, parents, faculty and staff.
    • Experience in sports marketing, promotions, or content creation is preferred.

    Working Conditions:

    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk long distances.
    • Must demonstrate ability to communicate to give adequate directions and instructions.
