The opportunity

Mustard Seed Village is seeking an experienced, compassionate leader to serve as its Administrator, known in the Green House model as the Guide. This is a rare opportunity to lead Washington's first assisted living and memory care community affiliated with the Green House Project - a small, nonprofit community where relationships, autonomy, and quality of life are central to the care of every elder.


The Village is home to approximately 31 elders in three small homes under one roof: two assisted living homes and one memory care home. As part of The Mustard Seed Project of Key Peninsula, the Village is connected to the nearby Crandall Center, Mustard Seed Cafe, and a broad range of programs for older adults.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, the Guide leads Village operations through a collaborative team that includes two Resident Care Coordinators and an RN Nurse Delegator. The Guide directly supervises designated leaders and holds overall responsibility for quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, occupancy, workforce, and culture.


·         Champion elder-directed care that protects dignity, choice, belonging, and meaningful daily life.


·         Lead and develop the Village leadership team while supporting effective hiring, retention, communication, and accountability.


·         Partner with clinical leaders to maintain safe, consistent care, resident rights, regulatory compliance, staff training, and quality assurance.


·         Manage the operating plan and budget; monitor staffing, expenses, revenue, risk, occupancy, and performance.


·         Build trusted relationships with elders, families, employees, referral sources, regulators, and community partners.


·         Oversee a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment through designated staff and vendors.

Qualifications

·         Meets Washington State assisted living administrator qualification and training requirements under WAC 388-78A-2520 through 388-78A-2527 and WAC 388-78A-2540.


·         At least three years of progressively responsible leadership experience in assisted living, memory care, senior services, healthcare, or a closely related setting.


·         Demonstrated success leading staff and building a respectful, accountable workplace culture.


·         Knowledge of assisted living operations, resident rights, quality assurance, budgeting, workforce management, and applicable regulations.


·         Sound judgment, integrity, initiative, and a commitment to elder-directed, relationship-based care.


Preferred: Prior assisted living administrator or executive director experience; memory care experience; a bachelor's degree in a related field; an RN, LPN, or Washington nursing home administrator credential; or experience with the Green House model.

Compensation benefits and flexibility

The salary range is $100,000 to $110,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunities for future growth based on strong performance and organizational capacity. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; a flexible spending account; and a SIMPLE IRA with a 3% employer match.


The position offers substantial flexibility in arranging the workweek, including one remote day per week under normal circumstances. The Guide shares an on-call rotation with the two Resident Care Coordinators, structured so the Guide normally has at least two days each week free from work and on-call responsibilities. Occasional evening or weekend involvement may be needed for significant operational or elder-care matters.
