POSITION SUMMARY:
The FP&A Associate will support Bayview Asset Management’s financial planning, forecasting, reporting, valuation, and strategic analytical efforts across the business. This role partners closely with FP&A leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to develop rigorous financial analyses, evaluate business performance and strategic opportunities, and deliver actionable insights that support management decision-making.
This is a hands-on analytical role for a high-performing, intellectually curious finance professional with 4–6 years of relevant experience in FP&A, valuation, investment banking, transaction advisory, or a related analytical finance role. The successful candidate will bring strong financial modeling and analytical skills, apply structured problem-solving to complex business questions, leverage AI tools and automation to work efficiently, and thrive in a demanding, fast-paced asset management environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Planning, Forecasting & Analysis
- Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long‑range planning processes for Bayview Asset Management.
- Build and maintain integrated financial models to support forecasting, valuation, scenario and sensitivity analysis, capital allocation, and business planning.
- Analyze historical and projected financial performance, identify key value drivers and risks, and assess results against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Evaluate the financial and strategic impact of new initiatives, investments, projects, and business decisions, including returns, sensitivities, and key assumptions.
Management Reporting & Business Insights
- Produce monthly and quarterly management reporting packages with clear variance analysis and commentary.
- Synthesize complex financial and operating data into concise, executive-ready insights and recommendations for FP&A leadership and business partners.
- Support the development of dashboards and visualization materials that communicate financial results clearly to business owners and senior leadership.
- Assist in tracking and monitoring KPIs to support performance management and cost optimization efforts.
Cross Functional Partnership
- Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to gather inputs, validate assumptions and data, and ensure alignment on financial outputs.
- Support intercompany allocation analysis and ongoing expense management workflows.
- Respond to ad‑hoc analytical requests from FP&A leadership with accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve FP&A processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.
- Actively leverage AI tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot, as well as Tableau, Snowflake, Sigma, Excel, and financial planning platforms to automate recurring analyses, reduce manual work, and drive step-change improvements in team efficiency.
- Maintain documentation and controls around assumptions, models, and outputs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in FP&A, valuation, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate finance, or a similarly rigorous analytical finance role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including experience building integrated financial statements, forecasts, valuation analyses, scenario and sensitivity analyses, or transaction models; direct budgeting experience.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, with the ability to build clear, well-structured models and analyze large, complex datasets.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools, such as large language models or AI-assisted coding and analysis, to accelerate work and solve problems creatively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear, management-level materials and recommendations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Creative thinker who approaches financial problems with intellectual curiosity and identifies non-obvious solutions.
- Experience in asset management, investment management, private credit, financial services, or advisory work supporting financial institutions is preferred.
- Familiarity with financial visualization and analytics tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, and Sigma.
- Exposure to planning and forecasting platforms, such as Anaplan or Vena, is preferred.
- Highly analytical, with strong attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player who is comfortable working across functions.
- Self-motivated, organized, proactive, and eager to grow within FP&A.
- Sound business judgment, with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
LOCATION AND COMPENSATION:
- This role will be based in Bayview’s New York office.
- This role will be hybrid, with three days per week in the office.
- The compensation offered for this position will be between $140,000 - $175,000 base with a performance based bonus.
