Associate Market Analyst - $68,400 to $76,000

Mid Market Analyst - $94,500 to $105,000

Sr Market Analyst - $114,300 to $127,000

Ranges are per year based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K

Primary Purpose of Position

The Market Analyst will be responsible for understanding energy market conditions, tracking and evaluating programs and regulations, and developing insightful forecasts of the impacts of key trends. The role will focus on evaluating the effects of energy demand, commodity prices, renewable energy, emerging technologies, and changes to the generation fleet in U.S. energy markets. The objective of the role is to prepare Constellation to compete in a rapidly changing business environment.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

• Identifies market drivers and ensuring these are incorporated into short and long-term forecasts.
• Coordinates perspectives on market developments with stakeholders across Constellation and communicates emerging market dynamics to a broader commercial audience.
• Collaborates with Fundamentals, Structuring, Risk, and other teams to ensure consistent and coordinated market analysis.
• Runs and customizes off the shelf and proprietary analytical models, including tools such as Plexos, and evaluates modeling results.
• Communicates modeling results, insights, and implications in a clear and concise manner.
• Partners with team members to develop analytical tools, models, and market insights.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Associate Market Analyst

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field
• 1-year of relevant work experience
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams ranging from individual contributors to multi-member groups
• Strong research, writing and communication skills
• Project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with ambiguous or abstract concepts and limited guidance
• Proven ability to perform quantitative analysis and apply strong mathematical and analytical skills to business or technical problems
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Motivated to achieve results in a collaborative and rapidly evolving market

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Mid Market Analyst

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Management, Economics, Engineering, or business related field
• Excellent customer service skills, strong communications skills, and solid project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with ambiguous or abstract concepts and limited guidance
• Proven ability to perform quantitative analysis and apply strong mathematical and analytical skills to business or technical problems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written
• Self-motivated to achieve results in a collaborative and rapidly evolving environment
• 2-years of relevant experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Sr Market Analyst 

• 5-years relevant experience
• Project management skills
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with ambiguous or abstract concepts and limited guidance
• Proven ability to perform quantitative analysis and apply strong mathematical and analytical skills to business or technical problems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written
• Self-motivated to achieve results in a collaborative and rapidly evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience assessing market impacts and exposure to production cost and economic modeling
• Computer programming skills such as Python
