The Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate to support our psychological services team. This role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality mental health care to incarcerated women, helping promote rehabilitation, stability, and overall well-being within the facility.

Minimum Qualifications

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Assist licensed psychologists in delivering mental health services, including intake assessments, crisis evaluations, and ongoing treatment support for incarcerated women.
Conduct structured interviews and screenings to gather behavioral, emotional, and psychosocial information under the supervision of a psychologist.
Document clinical observations and maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.
Support treatment planning by helping develop, update, and monitor individualized mental health plans.
Facilitate psychoeducational groups on topics such as coping skills, emotional regulation, trauma awareness, and adjustment to incarceration.
Provide one-on-one supportive interventions within the scope of practice and under direct supervision.
Assist in crisis response, including monitoring individuals on suicide watch, conducting safety checks, and reporting concerns to clinical leadership.
Coordinate with custody staff to ensure safe, appropriate delivery of mental health services within the correctional environment.
Prepare reports and summaries for psychologists, multidisciplinary teams, and administrative review.
Participate in case conferences and team meetings, offering observations and updates relevant to patient care.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level. However, the salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
This position also offers premium pay: A rate between $2.00 and $5.00 an hour for each regular hour worked, based on years of service with DOC, in addition to regular pay.
