Job Description:
Our Florida based client is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join our Torts & Insurance Defense practice in our Fort Myers office. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney looking to grow within a respected firm and gain hands-on experience across all phases of complex insurance defense matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Evaluate cases and develop litigation strategies
- Respond to and manage discovery
- Prepare for and argue motions and attend court hearings
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Participate in mediations and negotiate settlements
- Collaborate with clients, partners, and legal team members
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of insurance litigation experience
- Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Experience in federal court preferred
- Familiarity with §1983 litigation and appellate work is a plus
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
