To do this, we demonstrate our core values of kindness, quality, innovation, trust, and pride, and empower every team member to do the right thing!Position Summary The Springs Living is seeking an Associate Attorney to provide legal support and guidance across a broad range of business and operational matters affecting The Springs Living communities and affiliated businesses. This role partners closely with leadership, operations, human resources, compliance, risk management, development, and finance teams to support legal compliance, mitigate organizational risk, and advance company objectives. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented attorney with strong interpersonal skills and experience in healthcare, employment, real estate, regulatory, or corporate law.Essential Functions Provide legal counsel and day-to-day support on operational, regulatory, employment, transactional, and business matters affecting senior living communities and associated ancillary businesses. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, vendor agreements, service agreements, and related legal documents.Provide support related to acquisitions, development projects, construction, real estate, and financing transactions.Support litigation management, dispute resolution, claims investigations, and responses to regulatory inquiries for resident and employment matters.Collaborate on federal, state, and local regulations related to senior living, healthcare, labor and employment, privacy, licensing, and resident care (CMS, state health departments, OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing Act, HIPAA, DOL).Assist with resident-related matters including admission agreements and contracts, rights complaints, and discharge/eviction matters.Collaborate with operational leadership to review and understand resident/family/guardian documents such as guardianship, power of attorney, and similar forms to understand authority and decision processes.Collaborate with the People Team and operations leadership to develop and update human resource policies, procedures, and training materials.Provide support for employment matters including wage/hour compliance, leave laws, terminations, EEOC charges or state agency complaints.Support investigations into resident or employment related matters as needed.Support risk management and compliance programs across the organization.Collaborate with outside counsel as needed and monitor legal spend.Participate in initiatives and cross-functional projects supporting organizational growth and operational excellence.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolActive license and good standing with the Oregon State Bar5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in healthcare, senior living, employment, corporate, regulatory, or real estate lawStrong knowledge of employment law, contract law, and regulatory complianceExperience advising business leaders in a fast-paced operational environment preferredExcellent written, verbal, negotiation, and analytical skillsExperience supporting healthcare providers, assisted living, memory care, or multi-site operationsFamiliarity with healthcare privacy laws, licensing regulations, and risk management practicesIn-house legal experience preferredStrong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential mattersAbility to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating cross-functionallyProficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research toolsBenefits Health insurance (includes zero co-pay for mental health counseling)Dental insuranceVision insurance401(k) matchingShort-term and Long-term disabilityEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountLife insurancePaid time off/SabbaticalProfessional developmentOn-site chiropractic careEmployee Wellness PlatformOn-site gymDiscounted Gym MembershipAdditional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelinesThis position is based in Beaverton, Oregon#J-18808-Ljbffr
