Job Details

Responsibilities
Civil Defense Litigation
Manage day-to-day litigation activities across a variety of civil matters.
Assist in defending clients in personal injury, premises liability, commercial litigation, and other civil disputes.
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments and strategy.
Attend and defend depositions.
Participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
Assist with trial preparation and trial support.
Insurance Coverage & Bad Faith Matters
Conduct legal research and analysis on complex insurance coverage issues.
Draft coverage opinions, briefs, and other legal memoranda.
Assist in evaluating policy interpretation and coverage disputes.
Support the defense of insurers in coverage litigation.
Assist in defending bad faith and unfair claims practices actions.
Collaborate with partners to develop litigation and coverage strategies.

Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active admission to the Connecticut Bar is required.
2-6 years of litigation experience.
Experience in civil defense litigation, insurance coverage, or both preferred.
Strong knowledge of Connecticut practice and procedure.
Familiarity with the Connecticut Practice Book.
Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding organizational and case management capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Admission in NY or CT or NJ
Experience handling insurance coverage disputes and bad faith claims.
Deposition, hearing, or trial experience.
