A bit about us:

Our client is an established civil litigation firm based in Roseville, California, serving clients throughout Northern and Central California. Since its founding in the 1970s, the firm has built a practice centered on business and insurance litigation, professional liability defense, legal ethics counseling, and appellate work. Beyond representing individual and corporate clients, the firm has also carved out a niche advising other law firms on ethics, risk management, and malpractice avoidance, giving its attorneys exposure to sophisticated legal practice management issues that go well beyond standard litigation work.

The firm is small by design, prioritizing a tight-knit team of experienced attorneys and staff over rapid headcount growth. Attorneys here are expected to become genuine subject matter experts, particularly in the ethics and professional liability space where the firm has built its reputation.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to practice at a firm where institutional knowledge runs deep and reputation matters more than billable hour quotas alone. Associates get:

Real courtroom and appellate exposure. The firm's litigation and appellate practice means associates are drafting briefs, preparing for hearings, and getting into court, not just sitting behind a desk on document review.

A specialized, defensible niche. Ethics counseling and malpractice avoidance work for other law firms is a rare specialty. It's intellectually engaging and insulates the practice from some of the commoditization pressures more generalist litigation shops face.

Direct access to senior attorneys. Given the firm's size, associates work closely with partners rather than being buried several layers down in a large litigation department.
A stable, community-rooted firm. With decades of continuous operation and deep relationships across the Northern and Central California legal community, this is a firm built for the long term, not a shop chasing short-term growth.

Involvement in the profession itself. Attorneys here are encouraged to participate in continuing legal education, professional writing, and bar-related service, which is valuable for anyone looking to build a broader reputation in the legal community.
