Civil Litigation Attorney

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda to support litigation strategies
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Draft and argue dispositive motions as required
  • Take and defend fact witness and expert depositions
  • Ensure compliance with all court deadlines, procedural requirements, and case schedules
  • Maintain accurate case files, litigation records, and supporting documentation
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments and provide interim status reports
  • Collaborate with clients, expert witnesses, and co-counsel to develop effective litigation strategies
  • Work closely with partners and senior attorneys to ensure successful case management
  • Respond to discovery requests and manage all aspects of the discovery process
  • Provide professional representation in both state and federal court proceedings
  • Deliver exceptional client service while maintaining high ethical and professional standards
  • Maintain organized case documentation and electronic records
  • Utilize legal research platforms, case management systems, and Microsoft Office applications effectively
  • Support firm initiatives, special projects, and departmental objectives as needed
  • Prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing legal education opportunities
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client, firm, and personnel information
  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, support staff, and external partners
  • Demonstrate strong advocacy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as required to support business needs
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Admission to the New Hampshire State Bar required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of civil litigation experience required
  • Experience practicing in New Hampshire state and federal courts preferred
  • Strong advocacy and courtroom skills
  • Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis
  • Experience responding to discovery requests and managing discovery processes
  • Experience taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • High attention to detail, professionalism, and confidentiality standards
