This role involves managing a high-volume caseload of complex litigation matters and providing legal representation to clients, with a focus on foreclosure, title, and real estate litigation, and a working knowledge of bankruptcy and compliance.

This role is primarily remote, with monthly in-office meetings (subject to change as courts resume in-person hearings). We value independent, detail-oriented attorneys who thrive in a fast-paced, case-management–driven environment and are comfortable growing with us as our firm and processes evolve.

All Firm employees and hires are required to pass comprehensive background checks.

Full-time Employee Benefits include:

  • Health insurance
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid personal time off
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Matching Safe Harbor 401(k) contributions
  • Dental, Vision, and other insurances available at attractive group rates
  • Spouse and family coverage for medical, dental, and vision are also available
  • Salary range is $110,000 - $175,000 and is based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Represent various types of clients, including individuals and corporations, secured creditors, financial institutions, and mortgage servicers through all stages of the litigation process.
  • Manage and oversee assigned paralegal support, including workflow coordination and professional development, as applicable.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of applicable statutes, case law, regulatory requirements, and servicing guidelines.
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Appear in court on behalf of clients and communicate effectively with opposing counsel.
  • Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with clients, vendors, and colleagues using the firm’s case management systems, phone, and email.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the Illinois Bar with no disciplinary history in any jurisdiction.
    • Admission to the Wisconsin Bar is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure Law, the Illinois Code of Civil Procedure, Supreme Court Rules, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
    • Knowledge of Bankruptcy Law and compliance is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial litigation experience
    • Prior experience as a practicing attorney in a supervised environment at a law firm or government agency required; exceptional candidates who do not meet this requirement may be considered.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues, including the ability to de-escalate and resolve issues effectively.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume litigation caseload, including proactive file and deadline management, daily court appearances, legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, regular client communication, staff oversight, and developing creative, solution-oriented strategies.
  • Process driven and detail oriented, with a strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
