Associate Attorney - Family Law Litigation (340/o)

Established South Florida firm dedicated exclusively to the practice of marital and family law is seeking an experienced Family Law Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The firm offers their team a steady, supportive and community-centric atmosphere. The firm handles high net worth cases, and their legal experts offer their clients a unique understanding of the often complex legal issues involved in these types of family law cases. Whether a case involves a pre-nuptial agreement, a divorce, a child support issue or any other family law matter, they use their expertise to guide clients through the process, in a professional and respectful manner.

Ideal candidates will be grounded and motivated to help clients with their family law matters and will have a calm, empathetic and compassionate demeanor with a commitment to protecting the clients’ rights through negotiation or litigation.

Successful candidates will have 3+ years of family law experience, litigation experience and experience handling high net worth cases; being bilingual in Spanish is preferred.  The position is full-time and onsite in the Coral Gables, FL area, a hybrid schedule can be considered, however, you must live within the South Florida area to allow for office days and to attend any in person client meetings, hearings, depositions, meditations, etc.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently manage a caseload from inception to conclusion in all areas of family law including divorce, pre and postnuptial agreements, timesharing & parenting plans, alimony, child support, and domestic violence
• Preparing and arguing motions
• Handling discovery
• Conducting depositions
• Attending mediations
• Conducting legal research
• Staying current with changes in family law and legal practice

Qualifications:

• Must have a Florida Bar license in good standing
• Must have 3+ years of Family Law experience and litigation experience
• Must have experience handling high net worth clients/cases
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
• Must have familiarity with Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure
• Must have experience with discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations and trial prep.
• Must have excellent research and exceptional writing skills to draft petitions, responsive pleadings, motions, discovery, and all other pertinent pleadings in family law cases
• Must have exceptional attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• Must be results driven with the ability to analyze situations and adopt an effective course of action
• Must have outstanding written and oral communication and organizational skills
