Associate Attorney – General Liability Defense

A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its General Liability Defense Practice Group in Houston, TX. Position: Associate Attorney – General Liability Defense
Location: Houston, TX
Schedule: Hybrid
Compensation: Base salary up to $190,000 plus bonus opportunities

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload with partner oversight and mentorship
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy development
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
• Assist with trial preparation and litigation proceedings
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors
• Manage discovery deadlines and case documentation

Qualifications

• Active Texas Bar license required
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience on the defense side
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
• Professional, proactive, and team-oriented approach
