Elsstaffing.com is recruiting an Associate Attorney specializing in Insurance Defense, where your expertise will play a vital role in representing clients against insurance claims and disputes. The ideal candidate will have experience investigating/defending first- and third-party claims, taking and defending depositions, drafting dispositive motions, and attending court hearings in state and federal courts. Experience drafting coverage opinions and conducting examinations under oath is a strong plus. . Duties
Manage a broad spectrum of insurance defense cases, including personal injury, property damage, and contractual disputes.
Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and ensure compliance with procedural law requirements.
Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.
Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, developing case theories, and participating in court depositions.
Negotiate settlements effectively while maintaining strong client communication throughout the litigation process.
Assist in trial preparation by coordinating witness testimony, preparing exhibits, and supporting courtroom proceedings.
Stay current on relevant laws including employment law, workers' compensation law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, environmental law, and statutory legal research to provide comprehensive legal counsel.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdiction.
Experience: 3+ years of solid experience in law firms of litigation, preferably with an emphasis on insurance-related litigation such as coverage disputes, personal injury cases, premises liability lawsuits, and bad faith claims.
Licensure & Certification: Possession of a license to practice law in Colorado.
Strong research skills for statutory and procedural legal research.
Demonstrated ability to draft clear legal documents and motions with excellent writing skills.
Experience conducting court depositions and trial preparation is highly desirable.
Knowledge of procedural law and familiarity with legal case management systems.
Exceptional negotiation skills coupled with effective client communication abilities.
Prior law office experience involving legal advocacy, legal research, motion preparation, and case management is preferred.
