SQUIRE PATTON BOGGS (US) LLP is currently recruiting for the Associate Attorney at its location in New York, NY:Responsibilities: Provide legal consultation and represent clients in connection with various matters, specializing in international dispute resolution and international arbitration. Conduct research on statutory, treaty and international law and case precedent, develop case strategy, draft legal documents, and conduct legal transactions for New York, federal and international law related matters. Advise clients; interpret laws, rulings and regulations; analyze probable outcomes based on legal precedents and develop strategies. Additionally, draft legal briefs and opinions, research, gather evidence and evaluate findings, and meet with clients, parties, witnesses and experts, and maintain business relationships. Make appearances in court and international tribunals, handle depositions, and conduct due diligence investigations. May be required to direct and supervise the work of paralegals, junior associates and members of the administrative team. The position requires 20% of domestic and international travel.Education: Juris Doctor, LLM, or foreign equivalent.Experience Juris Doctor, LLM or foreign equivalent degree and One (1) year of experience as an Attorney/Associate, Foreign Legal Consultant, Law Clerk, Legal Research Assistant or related occupation, concentrating on international dispute resolution matters.Special Requirements: representing clients in proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and other international arbitral organizations; representing foreign governments/sovereign entities in commercial arbitration; representing clients in international dispute resolution matters in relation to former Soviet Union jurisdictions; construction, including FIDIC, M&A, privatization-related and oil & gas international arbitration disputes; sports arbitration; shipping and shipping insurance arbitration; court proceedings in relation to interim measures in support of international arbitration, including worldwide freezing orders; handling disputes within civil law jurisdictions; and, assisting in preparation of legal expert reports.
