A bit about us:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Attorney to join our thriving Legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a broad range of labor and employment matters, and to provide critical legal support to our clients. The successful candidate will have a strong background in labor & employment, wage/hour, FMLA, NY labor law, and Labor law. They will also be proficient in handling motions, depositions, mediations, carrier reporting, and employment law. Experience in civil litigation and intellectual property is a plus. This position requires a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of labor and employment issues.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate complex labor and employment agreements.
3. Represent clients in court and before quasi-judicial or administrative agencies of government.
4. Conduct and manage discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
5. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
6. Participate in mediations and negotiate settlements.
7. Conduct legal research and analysis, and keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations.
8. Prepare and submit carrier reports in a timely manner.
9. Work closely with other attorneys and staff to ensure a high level of client service.
10. Assist with other tasks as assigned by the senior attorneys.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney, with a focus on labor & employment, wage/hour, FMLA, NY labor law, and Labor law.
3. Experience in handling motions, depositions, mediations, and carrier reporting.
4. Knowledge of Employment Law, Civil Litigation, and Intellectual Property.
5. Admission to the state bar.
6. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
9. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
10. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
