Associate Attorney

Petersen + Landis, a boutique corporate and M&A law firm headquartered in San Diego with offices in Chicago, IL, is seeking a part-time Corporate Associate to join the team with at least 3 years of corporate transactional experience to assist with our growing M&A and corporate practice, which spans a wide variety of industries.

Our firm works with clients ranging from private to public companies, startups and emerging businesses to established corporations, and they span a diverse range of industries including distribution, manufacturing, consumer products, professional services, financial services, retail and technology.

The ideal candidate will have focused primarily on corporate transactions during their career. Candidates should be well-versed in California and Delaware corporate law. The associate must be comfortable drafting substantive commercial and transactional documents and working cross-collaboratively and diligently with a team. The ability to work with other team members and clients, and take ownership of projects, is essential.

Candidates should have strong academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Admission in California is required.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• 3 or more years of experience at a law firm working on commercial and/or M&A transactions
• \n
• Must be admitted to the California State Bar
• \n
• Strong academic background from law school
• \n
• Exceptional analytical, writing, and communication skills required
• \n
• Available to work onsite in the firm’s Carmel Valley office location at least two days per week at the outset, with hybrid remote work offered as a primary option moving forward.
