Job Details

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a 3–5 year Litigation Associate to join our growing Insurance Defense practice in North Tampa.

This attorney will independently manage defense litigation matters involving general liability, third-party insurance defense, and premises liability, while working alongside experienced trial attorneys on complex cases.

The role offers meaningful courtroom exposure, hands-on litigation experience, and the opportunity to serve as first chair at trial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through trial
  • Develop case strategy and evaluate exposure for insurance carriers and clients
  • Conduct and defend fact and expert depositions
  • Draft and argue dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment
  • Serve as first chair at jury trials and evidentiary hearings
  • Attend site inspections and in-person depositions as needed
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients and insurance carriers
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements
  • Manage high-volume litigation files in Florida state courts

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar
  • 3–5+ years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience
  • Demonstrated first chair trial experience
  • Experience taking and defending expert depositions
  • Strong motion practice and courtroom advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
