Associate Attorney

Pay: $100,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Location: This is an on-site role based in Virginia Beach, VA.

Note: Must be admitted to practice law in Virginia. Medical malpractice defense experience is a plus, but not required.

Job Description

• Represent clients in medical malpractice defense and complex litigation matters
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy, motions, discovery, and trial preparation
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, correspondence, motions, and other legal documents
• Take and defend depositions as appropriate based on experience level
• Assist with hearings, depositions, mediations, expert work, and trial preparation
• Manage case files, deadlines, documents, and litigation calendars with strong attention to detail
• Work directly with partners and team members to evaluate facts, develop defenses, and move cases forward
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal team members

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Active Virginia Bar admission required
• 0+ years of litigation experience
• Medical malpractice defense, healthcare litigation, insurance defense, or civil litigation experience preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy litigation environment
• High energy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to client service
