Associate Attorney – Trademark Mayer Brown LLP seeks an Associate Attorney to advise on global trademark clearance, office action responses and related prosecution filings, opposition and cancellation proceedings, and infringement actions; communicate and correspond with colleagues, clients, and other counsel; conduct client interviews and provide legal consultation under the supervision of senior attorneys; conduct legal research and analysis; draft legal documents related to critical client matters based upon analyses of applicable laws; prepare guidance for clients on the protection and enforcement of trademarks to successfully secure trademark registrations and enforce trademarks in Latin America, Spain, the greater European Union, Asia, Africa, and Australia; monitor the usage and compliance with client intellectual property rights by third parties worldwide; and work with IP policies of major social media platforms to submit takedown notices and engage in other IP enforcement matters.Responsibilities Advise on global trademark clearance, office action responses and related prosecution filings, opposition and cancellation proceedings, and infringement actions.Communicate and correspond with colleagues, clients, and other counsel.Conduct client interviews and provide legal consultation under the supervision of senior attorneys.Conduct legal research and analysis.Draft legal documents related to critical client matters based upon analyses of applicable laws.Prepare guidance for clients on the protection and enforcement of trademarks to successfully secure trademark registrations and enforce trademarks in Latin America, Spain, the greater European Union, Asia, Africa, and Australia.Monitor the usage and compliance with client intellectual property rights by third parties worldwide.Work with IP policies of major social media platforms to submit takedown notices and engage in other IP enforcement matters.Qualifications Master's degree in Law.Five years of experience with US and international trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and disputes.5 years of experience with prosecuting trademark applications at the USPTO.5 years of experience with USPTO and TTAB procedures.5 years of experience with coordinating foreign counsel on the filing and defending of foreign cancellation, opposition.5 years of experience with cease and desist letters and infringement actions.5 years of experience with advising on trademark clearance strategy, and with trademark prosecution, opinion work, and support for litigation in Latin America.5 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.Must be admitted to practice law in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a state, US commonwealth, US territory, or the District of Columbia.Fluency in Spanish.Location & Compensation Location: Washington, DC.Rate of Pay: $225,000.00 - $420,000.00 per year.#J-18808-Ljbffr
