    Position: Associate Attorney

    Location: Wichita, KS

    Duration: Full-Time- On site

    Salary: DOE

    Description:

    The client is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join a growing law practice in Wichita, Kansas. This high-volume and fast-paced environment focuses on criminal defense, civil litigation, employment issues, family disputes, and public interest litigation, with a strong commitment to trauma-informed advocacy.

    The firms mission is centered on making a real impact for individuals struggling with substance use and other vulnerable populations, handling approximately 1,200 cases per year. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a team committed to justice reform and meaningful client representation.


    Qualifications:

    Juris Doctor degree and licensed to practice law (attorneys with 5+ years of practice experience can quickly obtain Kansas licensure).

    Background as a criminal defense attorney, prosecutor, or public defender strongly preferred.

    Experience in civil defense or advocacy for vulnerable populations is a plus.

    Litigation experience required; candidates with military backgrounds are highly valued.

    Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational skills.

    Commitment to serving clients with empathy, compassion, and professionalism.

    Open to candidates from out-of-staterelocation assistance is available.

    Key responsibilities:

    Represent clients in criminal defense, civil litigation, employment, family law, and public interest matters.

    Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and trial documents.

    Manage a high-volume caseload with professionalism and attention to detail.

    Advocate for clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials.

    Collaborate with colleagues to deliver strong, trauma-informed representation.
