**Job Summary**

The Biomedical Imaging Technician will serve our patients through creative, high quality, biomedical equipment support and technical assistance in a timely and cost-effective manner. Must a high level of specialized technical ability in problem solving, use of test equipment, and service documentation to maintain biomedical equipment associated with high end contracts along with general Biomed equipment. Works on Diagnostic Imagining modalities such as: Computer Tomography systems (CT), Nuclear Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Vascular and Catheter Radiology Labs, General X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound Units and others as described. Responsible for proficiently maintaining and repairing three diagnostic imagining modalities at minimum from the following: Computer Tomography systems (CT), Nuclear Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Vascular and Catheter Radiology Labs, General X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound Units, Mammography, Linear Accelerator.

Evaluates and Performs safety inspections, calibration and preventive maintenance on medical and diagnostic equipment as scheduled to ensure regulatory compliance with the organization. Performs corrective maintenance request for modifications, updating, and repairs on various types of medical and diagnostic equipment to ensure completion in a timely manner.

Completes contract evaluations and assessments on diagnostic equipment including point of sale and reoccurring contracts to reduce contracts and bring support services in-house. Performs medical equipment and technology evaluations and assessments including pre-purchase and trial equipment evaluations to ensure regulatory compliance.

Collaborates in work group to prepare, coordinate and present formal and informal training programs related to equipment theory, safety, operation, inspection and repair to maintain well-trained knowledgeable staff. Attends manufacturer or equivalent training to maintain Diagnostic imagining equipment.

Documents activities and occurrences related to medical equipment management programs as required by Biomedical Electronics policies and procedures to ensure accurate information is provided as needed. Assists in maintaining records, producing reports and analyzing data as required to ensure accurate information is provided as needed. Recommends and promote new programs to fulfill specific areas of need in the application of technology to healthcare.

Mentor's biomedical technicians to provide an adequate level of training to frontline Diagnostic Specialty Equipment. Maintains technical skills, techniques, instrumentation and advances in related areas to ensure proficiency with job duties. Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions.

**Qualifications**

Associate’s degree in biomedical electronics, electrical engineering, electronics, or a related technology field required. Bachelors degree preferred.

For Associate Level - Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology internship or equivalent internship experience.

For Intermediate Level - Minimum of three years’ experience servicing Diagnostic Medical Imaging Equipment. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) trained (or equivalent) and actively maintaining a minimum of two Diagnostic Medical Imaging Equipment modalities such as described above. Ability to work independently and as team member with other staff with minimal supervision and under high stress situations.

For Senior Level - Minimum of five years experience servicing Diagnostic Medical Imaging Equipment. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) trained (or equivalent) and actively maintaining a minimum of three Diagnostic Medical Imaging Equipment modalities such as described above. Ability to work independently and as team member with other staff with minimal supervision and under high stress situations.

Valid Driver’s License required. Must maintain a good driving record. AAMI Credentials Institute (AMI), Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET), Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) certification preferred.
