Associate, Business Development
Washington, D.C. (Hybrid)

Compensation: $125k–$135k base + 15%–20% bonus + excellent benefits

A rapidly growing energy infrastructure developer backed by a major global investment firm is seeking an Associate, Business Development to support the underwriting, acquisition, and execution of utility-scale renewable energy, storage, and digital infrastructure projects across the U.S.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly analytical professional looking to gain exposure to large-scale infrastructure development, M&A execution, and project commercialization within a lean, high-growth platform.

Responsibilities

  • Support transaction execution activities for utility-scale solar, energy storage, and digital infrastructure acquisitions and strategic partnerships
  • Build, maintain, and optimize detailed financial models supporting investment and underwriting decisions
  • Assist with project and portfolio due diligence efforts alongside internal and external stakeholders
  • Support negotiation and evaluation of commercial agreements and definitive transaction documents
  • Prepare executive- and board-level investment approval materials
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, finance, legal, energy markets, and asset management teams
  • Analyze and model key commercial contracts including EPC, procurement, and offtake agreements
  • Prepare sensitivities, scenario analyses, and investment return analyses
  • Evaluate project risks, contractual obligations, performance guarantees, and commercial exposure

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, project finance, investment banking, private equity, development, or related quantitative roles
  • At least 1+ year of direct exposure to utility-scale solar and/or storage projects preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline
  • Strong Excel modeling skills with experience building and analyzing project finance models
  • Familiarity with project finance structures including construction debt, tax equity, preferred equity, and term debt
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to support investment decision-making processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work hybrid in Washington, D.C. (minimum 3 days/week in office)
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
