Associate Category Manager - Services Procurement

As the Associate Category Manager with the Services Procurement team, you'll be responsible for category strategy development with a long-term commercial plan. This will include strategic sourcing, negotiation, contracting, supplier and stakeholder relationship management across a subset of the Services categories. Specifically, supporting the execution of Contact center and Repair engagements across various supplier types, including management of ~50 contracts annually. Responsibilities include ongoing management of the Best Buy Care center suppliers as well as Repair center service suppliers. In this role, you'll consistently work with senior-level stakeholders and strategic suppliers.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do

• Lead category management and strategic sourcing activities including but not limited to negotiations, RFx, spend reporting/analysis, industry research, and opportunity identification.
• Develop, present, and maintain category strategies for assigned areas of spend with the objective of determining opportunities within the categories and strategizing optimal sourcing methodologies.
• Create and nurture stakeholder relationships, ensuring ongoing partnership and engagement.
• Leverage expertise, tools, policies, and relationships to help educate and influence internal clients on sourcing recommendations to achieve optimal results.
• Manage supplier relationships for effective exchange of information, optimizing engagement value for Best Buy.
• Partner with colleagues in sourcing & procurement operations teams to ensure optimal executional results.

Basic qualifications

• 2 or more years of experience in procurement with demonstrated involvement in sourcing, negotiations, contracting, or supplier management.
• 2 or more years of experience mentoring, cross-functional team management, and influencing without authority
• MS Office skills, emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint and ability to complete complex spend or data analysis, and presentation skills
• Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated negotiation, analytical, planning and execution skills

Preferred qualifications

• 3 or more years of experience in procurement or within services categories (e.g., contact centers, parts and repair services, or home delivery services) with demonstrated involvement in sourcing, negotiations, or supplier management.
• Working with cross functional stakeholders across a matrixed organization
• Experience in supplier relationship management
• Working knowledge of building strategies inclusive of competitive market analysis
