Job Summary:

The Department of Family Medicine at Care New England, an affiliate of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, seeks an innovative and accomplished physician investigator or research scientist to serve as the Associate Chair of Research within our ACGME accredited Family Medicine program.  

 

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a dynamic academic physician or research scientist committed to advancing primary care scholarship, mentoring residents and faculty, and building a sustainable, high impact research enterprise within a thriving academic department.  

 

Associate Chair of Research Position Overview 

  • Lead the research division and provide strategic direction for all departmental research initiatives 
  • Mentor junior researchers including faculty, fellows, residents and students research methodology and grant writing 
  • Maintain and active externally funded research program in Family Medicine relevant areas
  • Apply for and secure competitive grant funding from federal agencies and foundations
  • Position reports directly to the Chair of Family Medicine
  • 20% protected time for research leadership and administration
  • Eligible for Brown University faculty appointment academic rank

 

Requirements:
  • BC MD/DO Family Medicine or PhD with established record in primary care research
  • Demonstrated track record of federally funded research in Family Medicine or related health
  • Minimum 5 years conducting independent research with sustained externa funding
