Associate Chief Financial Officer NCA is a Christian School serving grades Jr.K-12. All qualifying candidates must support the mission statement: "New Covenant Academy is a Christian School committed to achieving Academic Excellence, teaching Biblical Truth, and developing Christ-like Character." New Covenant Academy is seeking a qualified full-time Associate Chief Financial Officer beginning in July 2026. The overall responsibility of the Associate Chief Financial Officer is to partner with the CFO in maintaining the financial integrity of NCA by implementing financial strategies, controls, and procedures that ensure the school’s long-term fiscal health and sustainability. It is our short-term goal that the individual who fills this position will transfer into the Chief Financial Officer position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative: - Leads the Board of Directors in financial planning.
- Promotes the school and its mission and vision to the community.
Fiscal: - Supervises the financial affairs of New Covenant Academy, which include operations, designated, agency, endowment, and fixed assets funds.
- Promotes fiscal responsibility while safeguarding educational priorities and maintains a balanced budget.
- Prepares the annual budget based on present enrollment, staffing, and departmental needs in partnership with the Head of School (HOS) and Finance Director for Finance Committee review.
- Establishes and maintains procedures as well as internal controls for all financial aspects of New Covenant Academy.
- Develops and maintains a three-year rolling budget based on projected enrollment, which includes a recommended tuition and fees schedule, discounts, salary and benefits package, and staffing changes in partnership with the HOS for Finance Committee review.
- Prepares monthly financial reports, which include budget comparisons to the Board of Directors.
- Oversees the annual financial audit, files required tax returns, and maintains compliance with all tax laws.
- Safeguards the assets of New Covenant Academy.
- Administers a program for purchasing supplies, equipment, and services in partnership with the HOS and Director of Operations.
- Manages the school loans (with the Finance Committee), investment of cash on hand (with the Finance Committee), and endowment fund (with the Investment Committee).
- Works to maintain effective school-parent relations and helps to interpret New Covenant Academy’s financial goals and status to the parents.
- Administers the Tuition Assistance Program and School Choice Programs in partnership with the Head of School.
- Ensures adequate and cost-effective insurance is in force, including public liability, property and casualty, and Workers’ Compensation.
- Maintain and oversee risk management protocol in terms of human resources and other liabilities.
Miscellaneous: - Serves as the Board Treasurer.
- Reports monthly and annually to the Board of Directors regarding the accomplishments, goals and /or objectives, the financial status and other matters of interest.
- Maintains professional relationships with the school’s banks, attorneys, auditors, insurance carriers, contractors, and accrediting organizations.
- Works effectively cooperatively with parents and other volunteers.
Personnel Management: - Cultivates an environment that promotes the spiritual and professional growth of staff.
- Make recommendations to the HOS for salary structure, benefit and working condition improvements.
- Develops and maintains a strong administrative team.
Human Resources: - Oversees employment agreements.
- Oversees the securing of appropriate bids for employee benefits, including, but not limited to, health insurance, all cafeteria plan options, retirement packages, and workers’ compensation.
- Oversees all employee benefits and payroll responsibilities.
Food Services: - Oversees the operations of the school lunch program, which includes Health Department compliance.
- Oversees the budget of the school lunch program.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree and preferably a Master’s Degree in Finance, or training with the appropriate financial emphasis and/or the equivalent experience in the area of fiscal management, operations and accounting of schools for a minimum of 10 years or greater with proven success in budgeting, fiscal analysis, etc.
- Must have excellent leadership skills.
- Must be a born-again Christian as described in John 3 and must be above reproach.
- Must have a background in Christian education.
- Must be an active member in a church of his/her choice, teaching doctrine consistent with the Academy’s Statement of Faith.
SPIRITUAL
- Lives a life consistent with the Personal Lifestyle Agreement and Statement of Faith and compatible with NCA standards, values, and policies.
- Demonstrate evidence of regeneration and dedication to the cause of Christ, and have an expressed desire (call) to work in a Christian School.
- Have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Have a Christian testimony reflected in a daily walk that allows being a true example to all students.
- Implement their jobs “as unto the Lord”: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not men.”
- Be active in a local body of believers and should be faithful in reading God’s Word and daily prayer.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires medium to high levels of sitting, standing, walking, squatting, lifting, bending, twisting, and kneeling
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate essential job-related equipment
- Must be sighted, hearing, and mobile to such a degree as not to compromise safety rules or the safety of self and others while working
- Requires a medium level of carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, and running
