Description
DEFINITION
Under the direction of the City Engineer, performs professional engineering and project management work for the planning, design, and construction of stormwater and drainage capital improvement projects. Coordinates the Town''s Clean Water Program as a secondary assignment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction from the City Engineer. May provide technical direction to consultants, contractors, and support staff.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience involving public infrastructure design, construction, or project management.
Experience with stormwater, drainage, hydrology and hydraulics, flood mitigation, or stormwater capital improvement delivery is highly desirable. Municipal engineering experience is preferred.
Education:
A bachelor''s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a closely related field.
LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)
Possession of a valid California State Driver''s License, or a license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire.
Possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate. Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California is also preferred.

This classification has been designated as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Employees in this classification are not entitled to overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of (37.5) hours per week or in accordance with applicable state and local wage and hour laws.
