Exciting Opportunity: Associate Contracts Manager – Outgoing MTA Program

Join a dynamic team as an Associate Contracts Manager, supporting our Outgoing Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) Program. This pivotal role offers a unique blend of administrative precision, scientific understanding, and stakeholder engagement within a hybrid work environment. What You’ll Do:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of outgoing MTAs, handling an active queue of 70-110 agreements.
  • Communicate effectively with research scientists, leadership, legal teams, external technology transfer offices, and academic collaborators.
  • Prioritize and resolve high volumes of email correspondence swiftly and accurately.
  • Demonstrate understanding of scientific terminology related to reagents, genetically modified models, and lab materials.
  • Organize and process signatures for MTAs, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Complete post-execution tasks, including sending agreements for signature, filing records, coordinating shipments, and managing import/export documentation.
  • Maintain real-time data accuracy in the MTA database, including party information and key dates.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, meeting coordination, and data entry.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline; legal education or experience is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, ideally within biotech, pharma, or academic settings.
  • Proven ability to draft, review, and manage agreements.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Detail-oriented with a high work ethic and reliable teamwork attitude.
  • Proficiency working with databases, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Applications.
  • Critical thinking skills to independently solve problems and propose solutions beyond protocols.

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with legal agreements or familiarity with legal concepts such as amendments and obligations.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and import/export procedures.
  • Familiarity with scientific nomenclature, including antibodies, plasmids, DNA, and genetically modified organisms.

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
  • 2-4 years in a similar role in biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic environments.

  • Hybrid working model (three days onsite, two remote).
  • Willingness to handle a high volume of agreements with precision and professionalism.
