Description Want to help people around the world read more and get more out of reading? Join the legal team for Amazon Books as the lawyer for Kindle, one of Amazon's most beloved brands and products. In this role, you'll advise across a full range of Kindle surfaces, including the Kindle app, Kindle for Web, and the reading experience on Kindle devices. You'll shape how millions of customers discover and enjoy books every day. The work spans everything from influencing the customer-facing reading experience to navigating software issues under the hood. For our app surfaces in particular, you'll serve as a strategic advisor on how we delight readers while operating consistent with third-party app store developer policies. No prior IP experience is required - what matters is an ability to dive deep into unfamiliar territory, exercise strong judgment and creativity in ambiguous situations, and bring a genuine enthusiasm for helping a world-class product continue to innovate. Key job responsibilities - Serve as primary legal counsel for Kindle reading surfaces - Provide legal guidance on product development - Negotiate and draft software licensing agreements - Partner with global colleagues and cross-functional teams like PR, public policy - Advise on AI-powered features About the team We are a forward-thinking legal group committed to supporting Amazon's mission of customer-centric innovation. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
