Description We're seeking a dynamic legal teammate to be a strategic partner in helping to shape the future of cloud computing. As an Associate Corporate Counsel, you'll play a critical role in supporting AWS's groundbreaking technology and global business initiatives. Key job responsibilities - Negotiate, draft, and review complex enterprise and technology licensing agreements across diverse business contexts - Provide comprehensive legal counsel on policy, regulatory, and compliance matters related to cloud computing and technology services - Support product development and operations teams with strategic legal insights on intellectual property, privacy, and marketing initiatives - Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate business development and strategic programmatic launches - Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure legal alignment with business objectives A day in the life Your day will be a blend of strategic legal counseling and collaborative problem-solving. You'll engage with sales, marketing, product, policy, security, and operations teams, crafting agreements that help drive AWS's innovative cloud and AI technologies forward in support of our customers. From negotiating enterprise contracts to providing legal guidance to business leaders, you'll be at the heart of AWS's transformative work. About the team Our legal team at AWS is a collaborative, forward-thinking group dedicated to enabling technological innovation in support of AWS customers. We work closely with business leaders to understand their goals and provide strategic legal support that helps accelerate AWS's mission to empower businesses through cutting-edge cloud solutions. Basic Qualifications - 2+ years of legal experience - Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent Preferred Qualifications - Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work - Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent - Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention - Experience working cross functionally across several teams - Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment - Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities - Experience using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of technical problems - Must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations - Curiosity and willingness to learn and grow in a team environment Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
