JOB OVERVIEW
The Associate Database Architect provides technical direction for the development and implementation of database systems. Use a combination of business and technical skills to design efficient, scalable, highly available database applications. Possesses strong technical, organizational and communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Participate in recommendations for new development tools for Data Management area
- Develop training effort for database tools and initiatives
- Design, develop and implement complex database systems, programs and applications
- Code review of projects
- Attend scrums to help assist with inter-project code and architecture needs
- Work with IT, PMO and users to identify and develop system requirements
- Write, maintain and review functional and technical specifications
- Keeps abreast of evolving Database technologies and best practices and recommend improvements as appropriate.
- Escalation point for database application issues
- Perform optimization of SQL code
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no managerial responsibilities.
COMPETENCIES - SKILLS
- Working knowledge of ETL tools such as SSIS
- Working knowledge of business intelligence tools
- Working knowledge of database replication, mirroring, backups
- A passion for database systems
- Very strong problem-solving skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, preferred.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience with T-SQL development.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience with tuning and optimizing database performance

Work Environment: This hybrid position is in Alpharetta or Schaumburg and operates in a professional office environment.
Position Type/Standard Schedule: Full Time; Monday thru Friday
Travel: No travel required
Physical Demands: The role may involve high-pressure situations and tight deadlines, requiring strong time management and stress management skills.

Pay Range:
$95,900-$134,200
