Job Description This position supports the Area Lead or Mechanical Lead on assigned projects as a Responsible Engineer (RE) on the project team handling moderately difficult mechanical process equipment packages, assignments and performing routine aspects of engineering.Establish equipment requirements and prepare equipment data sheets for mechanical process equipment including unfired and fired heat transfer equipment, packaged equipment, pressure vessels, pumps and compressors, and custom equipment skid packagesProvide equipment sizing and application support to project development or processReview Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for alignment with equipment requirementsDevelop and revise equipment lists, narrative specifications, equipment standards, equipment general arrangement and outline drawingsCross‑check Mechanical equipment list with P&IDs and equipment data sheetsParticipate in activities associated with equipment and material procurementAssist in the review of vendor lists, preparation of quotation requests, bid tabulations, purchase orders, and considerations for substitutions for technical acceptabilityParticipate in supplier/contractor bid clarification, negotiation, and/or award meetingsReview vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolutionBasic Job Requirements Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and one (1) year of work‑related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitorsJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective mannerEngineer‑in‑Training achievement status accomplishedAdvanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materialsPractical field experienceIntermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e‑mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programsPreferred Qualifications Applicable Engineering Procurement Construction Management (EPCM) experienceRegistered PEStrong MS Office application experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.)Autodesk 2D CAD experienceSolidWorks 3D CAD experienceWe are an equal opportunity employer.
