Summary:
- The Associate Director (AD) of Central Processing at Pennsylvania Hospital and ASC is responsible for collaborating with interdepartmental and entity leadership to support +24,000 surgical cases per year. As the leader of the Main Hospital and ASC Central Processing Department, the AD will regularly engage in alignment efforts with Hospital and ASC leadership as advised by Health System goals. The AD will maintain survey readiness and awareness of new guidelines and best practices related to Central Processing. The AD will regularly engage in efficiency opportunities as the Main Hospital and ASC transition surgical volume in partnership with other entities and the ISC. The culture of the department and workforce management is measured on a bi-annual cycle through Pulse Surveys. In conjunction with Pulse Surveys, each month the AD will conduct an Appreciative Inquiry to foster staff growth, shared ownership, and maintain staff engagement and alignment of expectations across the department.
Responsibilities:
- Manages all aspects of Central Processing at the Pennsylvania Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center at Tuttleman Center.
- Create growth opportunities for staff (i.e. ladder advancement, new certifications, etc).
- Execute nimble staffing model between Main Hospital and ASC to maximize efficiencies.
- Implement new processes at Main Hospital and ASC to align with ISC trajectory.
- Partner with the clinical team to transition new service lines from Main Hospital to ASC.
- Maintain regulatory compliance related to operational infrastructure and staff records.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary stakeholders interdepartmentally and Health System-wide.
- Expected outcome of performing these duties will result in leading the employees of the Central Processing Department to provide quality indirect patient care and create an environment conducive to staff growth and satisfaction. Maintain a proactive working relationship with system counterparts to ensure standardization in practice, vendor relationships, and to optimize quality.
Credentials:
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required). Internal candidates can be enrolled in bachelor’s program.
- 8+ years Central Processing Experience.
- 3+ years Leadership Experience.
