PURPOSE:

The Associate Director of Commercial Strategy and Analytics provides strategic commercial leadership by combining business analytics, market intelligence, and regional sales management to drive revenue growth, improve commercial performance, and support ACC's long term business strategy.

Working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial Operations, this role analyzes commercial performance, market trends, and business data to develop actionable insights and recommendations that support executive decision making, improve commercial effectiveness, optimize business processes, identify growth opportunities, and strengthen the organization's competitive position.

In addition to these strategic responsibilities, the Associate Director maintains direct responsibility for a designated sales region, including account management, revenue growth, customer relationship management, sales forecasting, territory planning, and the direct and indirect mentorship of field sales personnel. The role balances day-to-day commercial execution with long term strategic initiatives to support sustainable business growth.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support quarterly corporate initiatives, executive reporting, and strategic planning activities in partnership with the Senior Director of Strategic Planning.
  • Develop and maintain commercial business intelligence tools, CRM reporting, Power BI dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), forecasting models, and performance analytics to support revenue growth, pricing strategies, and executive decision making.
  • Conduct market research, competitive assessments, product portfolio evaluations, profitability analyses, and commercial intelligence to identify growth opportunities, optimize pricing, and support long term business strategy.
  • Translate commercial, customer, and operational data into actionable recommendations that improve business performance, commercial effectiveness, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Technical Services, and Operations to support strategic initiatives, commercialization efforts, revenue planning, market expansion, and organizational growth.
  • Lead and participate in strategic cross-functional projects while presenting commercial analyses, market insights, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership to support business planning and organizational decision making.
  • Maintain responsibility for an assigned sales territory, including account management, customer relationship development, revenue growth, forecasting, territory planning, strategic account execution, and accurate CRM documentation.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence to leadership by monitoring customer needs, competitive activity, industry trends, and emerging business opportunities to support commercial strategy and long-term growth.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to interpret large datasets and communicate business insights effectively
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies and operational improvements
  • Experience developing and monitoring commercial KPIs, forecasting models, pricing strategies, and revenue analytics
  • Advanced understanding of sales operations, market dynamics, customer acquisition strategies, and commercial performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive decision-making
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong collaborative relationships across departments
  • Experience with CRM systems, business intelligence tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or related analytics platforms preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, negotiation, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced commercial environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related discipline required; MBA or advanced degree preferred or equivalent combination of experience and/or education required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in sales, commercial strategy, analytics, business operations, or related leadership roles
  • Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostics, or related scientific industry preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing executive stakeholders preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

SALARY: $131,000-$145,000 annually

PAY RANGE DETAILS

The pay range listed on each job posting at acc represents the anticipated compensation range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate's work history, experience, skills, and education. This range does not include the value of the total benefits package (if applicable), which includes, among other benefits, healthcare, dental, vision, and retirement benefits. Annual salaries are based on full-time employment.
