Job Description

Director of Procurement Northern New Jersey

The Director of Procurement will lead the company’s procurement strategy, focusing on cost optimization, supplier performance, contract management, risk reduction, and process improvement. This role will partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure procurement delivers measurable financial and operational value.

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Lead strategic sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management.
  • Manage key suppliers and drive improvements in cost, quality, service, and performance.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
  • Oversee indirect procurement categories, including IT, professional services, facilities, travel, and corporate services.
  • Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, controls, and best practices.
  • Monitor procurement spend, savings, supplier performance, and key initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, HR, and other business leaders on contracts, risk, compliance, and business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate procurement processes.
  • Lead and develop procurement team members and promote a strong, service-oriented procurement culture.
  • Present procurement strategies, savings results, and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement or strategic sourcing experience.
  • Experience leading indirect procurement and complex supplier negotiations.
  • Strong contract management, financial analysis, and supplier management skills.
  • Prior leadership or people-management experience.
  • Strong understanding of procurement controls, governance, and risk management.
  • SAP or other ERP experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
