About the Associate Director of EMR: 

This role requires approximately 50% travel to support active EMR transitions, new site implementations, and go-live activations across Upperline Health markets. Travel is driven by project timelines and may include periods of consecutive on-site presence during critical implementation phases. Candidates must be comfortable with a dynamic, field-facing schedule. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the development and execution of the organization's EMR strategy in alignment with clinical and operational goals. 
  • Partner with the EMR leadership team to ensure effective performance, workflow adoption, and end-user support across markets. 
  • Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and technical stakeholders to identify and address EMR-related challenges and opportunities. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, vendors, and stakeholders. 
  • Assist in managing the Athena EMR system, including project coordination, configuration support, data migration, and user training. 
  • Contribute to optimization efforts to align the Athena system with organization-specific needs and workflows. 
  • Monitor EMR system performance and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvements. 
  • Develop and deliver training programs for clinical and administrative staff on Athena utilization and best practices. 
  • Support vendor management efforts and contribute to application performance accountability including UI responsiveness, overall quality of releases, adherence to regulatory and legal change, and general business continuity. This may require knowledge of performance tooling and a dedicated focus on clinician and patient user experience. 
  • Provide hands-on support to end users during transitions and implementations, resolving issues promptly and effectively. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement related to EMR utilization across all markets. 
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable federal and state regulations related to EMR systems, including HIPAA, Meaningful Use, and other relevant standards. 
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in EMR implementation and management. 
  • Support the management and integrity of EMR data, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility. 
  • Leverage EMR data to support clinical decision-making, quality improvement initiatives, and research efforts. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, information technology, or a related field. 
  • Master's degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare IT, with a focus on EMR implementation and management. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Athena EMR systems, including working knowledge of its features, functionality, and best practices. 
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders. 
  • Solid project coordination and organizational skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Working knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and standards related to EMR systems. 
  • Ability to travel up to 50% in support of EMR transitions and implementations. 

 Additional Skills: 

  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools. 
  • Knowledge of interoperability standards and healthcare information exchange. 
  • Experience with cloud-based EMR solutions.
