The Associate Director of Individual Services leads well-being initiatives focused on individual services. This role provides strategic leadership to support student success through evidence-based individual, interpersonal and institutional strategies, including Wellness Coaching, BASICS, and Gamecock Recovery.
Primary duties include:
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables. Oversee day-to-day operations of the team providing individual services.
- Provide leadership and supervision to student and professional staff and foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and development.
- Manage, report, and publicize Student Well-being's progress toward the achievement of unit, divisional, and university objectives.
- Working closely with the department and leadership to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with university, division, department, and unit priorities
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including students, university administrators, faculty, staff, and community partners.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree and 5 years experience in well-being management.
- Experience with collegiate recovery initiatives.
- Experience in a college health setting.
- Experience with delivery of wellness coaching.
- CHES and/or wellness coaching certification, or willing and eligible to obtain.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge and ability to apply relevant theories and research (to include modern health. education, motivational interviewing, and coachingpractices and theories).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Intermediate desktop publishing, word processing and spreadsheet skills necessary.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.

Operational Management:
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Oversee day to day operations of the team providing individual services
- Work closely with department and leadership to develop and manage internal budget; identifying opportunities for cost savings
- Oversee individual health education efforts, including Wellness Coaching, BASICS, and recovery coaching. Ensures service area schedules are open an appropriate number of hours per week to meet the needs of students. May provide 1:1 services including Wellness Coaching, BASICS and recovery coaching, as needed
- Oversee the staff who leads the Gamecock Recovery program.

Assessment:
- Manage, report, and publicize Student Well-being's progress toward the achievement of unit, divisional, and university objectives.
- Conduct assessment of services, utilization and facilitators to ensure effectiveness.
- Conduct semi-annual peer reviews of services to ensure quality and enact improvement plans based on findings.
- Provide annual report on effectiveness and impact of individual services.
- Review campus data and implement evidence-based strategies based on the findings.
- To include provider evaluation, program assessments, utilization reporting, and other assessment methods.

Strategic Planning
- Working closely with the department and leadership to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with university, division, department, and unit priorities
- Conduct research and analysis to identify to trends and best practices in student well-being, incorporating these insights into departmental strategies
- Coordinate a recovery-oriented system of care on campus, including early intervention strategies, referral programs, and recovery support.

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including students, university administrators, faculty, staff, and community partners.
- Represent the unit in university-wide initiatives and collaborate with other departments to enhance overall student experience and support services.
- Serve as a liaison between Healthy Carolina, Student Conduct, Student Care and Outreach Team, Counseling and Psychology Services, Title IX, Student Advocacy, and other campus and community offices as necessary to provide continuity of care.
- Serve on SHWB, university and national organization committees as needed
