Job DescriptionAssociate Director of US Leadership Development, reporting to the Director of US Leadership Development, directly supports and partners with business teams and commercial leadership. Responsible for improving the performance of US Commercial leaders by assessing development needs, driving leadership training initiatives, and serving as a subject‑matter expert in identifying and establishing development solutions that increase leader capabilities and support business performance in a rapidly changing marketplace.Key ResponsibilitiesImprove the performance of US Commercial leaders by assessing development needs and areas of opportunity to drive leadership training initiatives.Strategically identify and establish optimal development solutions to increase leader capabilities and support businesses.Earn and maintain stakeholder trust, coach leaders, and foster continued leader development.Provide expertise and consultancy to therapeutic area Vice Presidents, General Managers, and functional leadership teams to assess viability and effectiveness of established development programs and future initiatives.Creatively design, plan, supervise, and implement effective development methods aligned with AbbVie's objectives, culture, and strategy.Perform needs assessment, anticipate and analyze business needs, identify potential talent gaps, and ensure alignment of learning solutions with business goals.Engage partners in designing and managing delivery of training solutions; measure value of programming and behavior change.Utilize adult learning strategies, technologies, and proven techniques to engage stakeholders cost‑effectively.Understand and adhere to legal, medical, regulatory, and compliance guidelines.Design, customize, and improve learning programming; collaborate with vendor partners.Deliver leadership programs including Korn Ferry, TalentSmarts EQ, Leading Teams, Coaching, Ways We Work/Culture, Leadership Enhancement Days, Leadership Meetings, USLD enterprise‑wide programs, and intact team leadership sessions.Stay abreast of corporate and industry solutions and demands; keep informed on assigned areas of responsibility and business priorities.Lead curriculum and learning design and implementation of commercial enterprise programs and learning solutions, including onboarding/transition support, executive coaching, assessment instruments, leader skill building, and talent development for selected groups.Develop and execute learning solutions around skill, career, and personal development; ensure all activities are holistic and meet goals and objectives.Fully accountable for flawless execution of all in‑person and virtual learning events, including learning journey design, facilitation, materials, and logistics.Source, select, evaluate, and manage external faculty and executive coaches.Identify, evaluate, and report long‑term talent impact metrics aligned with Corporate Talent functions.Meet and exceed participant expectations as measured by feedback scores and analysis.Proactively identify and coach internal leaders and colleagues as sponsors and speakers for learning solutions.Execute annual strategic plan.Negotiate with AbbVie approved vendors, secure POs, and reconcile accounting functions associated with execution of training owned by USLD.Develop and grow leadership at all levels to keep them engaged in professional development and enterprise programs.Coach leaders in their development and their team's development.Assume a leadership role in coordination of all training activities within US (marketing excellence, leadership development, integrated brand teams, sales leadership, etc.).QualificationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence and ability to influence executive audiences.Ability to deliver high‑impact presentations and appropriate training.Ability to give constructive feedback and foster inclusive conversations.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner with others toward shared goals.Exceptional stakeholder management and ability to navigate complex, ambiguous environments.Experience leading teams, preferably in sales and marketing, to design and implement training programs that support successful execution of key initiatives.Recognized as a leader among peers and models coaching, situational leadership, and other best practices.Ability to inspire and motivate others toward a shared purpose.Broad leadership perspective and deep subject‑matter expertise in leadership development.Understanding of AbbVie products, business, and regulatory limitations.Experience determining long‑range training and development requirements and implementing changes.Keep current on market trends in leadership capability development.Relevant certifications and continuous self‑development; willingness to obtain Executive Coaching certification.Strong organization and task management skills.Ability to adapt plans based on new perspectives.Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and championing ideas that challenge the status quo.Familiarity with virtual and digital learning tools.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree required.5+ years of managerial experience.Travel up to 50%.Additional InformationThe compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the company believes in good faith it will pay for this role.
