Associate Director, Materials Demand Management
Description
The Associate Director (AD) of Materials Demand Management is responsible for leading demand and inventory management processes to ensure reliable supply of Boehringer's Human Pharma (HP) medicines to the US market. The AD will work with his / her team to gain cross-functional alignment and ensure accurate forecasting, optimized inventory, and effective execution of the Sales & Operations Planning cycle. This role bridges commercial, supply chain, and operations teams to balance demand, supply, and financial objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities
Leads the US Materials Demand Management function, prioritizing initiatives that support US and Global Human Pharma business plans. Partners with stakeholders, Contract Manufacturers (CMOs), and BI global production sites to align supply chain priorities, ensure supply continuity, improve processes, and execute inventory strategy. Balances service levels goals with inventory levels and logistics and warehousing costs. Sets inventory coverage targets, leads mitigation plans for excess or obsolete inventory, and ensures Demand Managers understand and comply with global supply chain processes.
Directs and develops processes for the monthly HP US Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP) cycle. Works with team members to ensure robust, cross-functional discussion and alignment related to forecasts, new business, net requirements, and supply chain capabilities. Identify and escalate risks to market supply and drive scenario planning and decision making to support business objectives.
Directs activities and monthly process to maintain appropriate balance between short term (Tactical) and long term (Strategic).
Supports HP US product launch and transfer activities to ensure rapid launches and reliable market supply
Works to effectively manage labeling (insert, bottle label, folding carton) version change process; ensuring compliance while minimizing destruction and repackaging costs. Ensures financial visibility through effective reserves and expiring demand processes.
Ensures GMP compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice, Storage, and Distribution during brand products transfers.
Directs Continuous improvement activities including:
Leads and develops employees by setting clear expectations, coaching performance, removing barriers, supporting growth, recognizing contributions, and making sound staffing and compensation decisions.
