Associate Director, Network Security

Our client, a leading healthcare organization committed to innovation and excellence, is hiring an Associate Director, Network Security. This high-impact leadership position offers an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned network security professional to shape and execute the organization’s cybersecurity strategy in a complex, enterprise-scale environment. The Associate Director will be responsible for safeguarding the organization’s network, systems, and data assets against evolving cyber threats, with significant influence over strategic security initiatives and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive network security strategy aligned with organizational goals, risk appetite, and industry best practices.
• Lead and mentor a team of network security specialists, fostering a high-performance culture through training, oversight, and development initiatives.
• Architect and maintain secure network infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and access controls, ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Establish and lead incident response procedures, coordinating investigations, remediation efforts, and recovery actions.
• Conduct regular risk assessments; identify vulnerabilities; collaborate with IT and security teams to mitigate risks proactively.
• Promote security awareness organization-wide through training programs and ongoing education initiatives.
• Manage vendor relationships with security technology providers such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, and F5, ensuring solutions meet organizational and compliance standards.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and frameworks; stay current with industry trends and emerging threats.
• Track and report security performance metrics to senior leadership, providing insights into risk posture and incident management.
• Oversee resource allocation and security budget planning to optimize technology investments effectively.

Requirements

• Minimum BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in network security within large, complex organizations.
• Proven leadership experience managing security teams; demonstrated supervisory capabilities.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with enterprise network security tools, particularly F5 and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Ability to operate effectively under high-stress conditions in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of engaging stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Preferred: Experience with Fortinet, Forescout, or Gigamon; vendor certifications in Palo Alto, F5, or related technologies; prior experience managing security in highly integrated enterprise environments.
