This position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and academic leadership to advance student learning outcomes assessment, periodic review, and data-informed decision-making in alignment with the university’s mission and strategic priorities. The Associate Director contributes to institutional effectiveness initiatives, including accreditation efforts, and plays a key role in fostering a culture of evidence-based planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Support and help lead institution-wide student learning outcomes assessment efforts, promoting effective and sustainable practices for continuous improvement Collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to design, implement, and improve assessment strategies for academic, administrative, and student success units Provide consultation and assistance on assessment design, methodology, data collection, and analysis Partner with faculty governance and campus stakeholders to support the assessment of student learning and continuous improvement Develop, facilitate, and deliver workshops and training on assessment practices for academic, administrative, and student success units Support and help coordinate the university’s academic, administrative, and student success periodic review processes Assist in maintaining and enhancing processes that align annual assessment and periodic review with institutional planning and improvement priorities Collect, analyze, interpret, and report assessment data to inform decision-making and strategic planning Maintain and support the use of assessment management systems and reporting tools Develop reports, dashboards, and communication materials that translate data into actionable insights Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and appropriate use of institutional data Contribute to accreditation-related activities, including documentation, reporting, and compliance efforts (e.g., Middle States Commission on Higher Education) Support and ensure alignment of assessment and program review processes with accreditation standards Support the faculty course evaluation process Develop and maintain assessment resources, including manuals, guides, and training materials Serve on institutional committees, as appropriate Perform other duties as assigned Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Education, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or related field Experience: 2–5 years of professional experience in higher education, institutional research, assessment, or a related area Knowledge of assessment methodologies, including student learning outcomes assessment, survey research, and program evaluation Knowledge of higher education accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement practices Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred in Education, Higher Education, Statistics, Data Science, or related field A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on the applicant’s credentials Experience in the methodologies of evaluation, student learning outcomes assessment, survey research Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable information Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prorities in a collaborative environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Demonstrated commitment to ethical data use, confidentiality, and professional integrity Experience with higher education accreditation processes (e.g., Middle States Commission on Higher Education) Experience working with faculty and staff on assessment of student learning outcomes Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Access, Tableau, Power BI, or similar software) and familiarity with assessment management systems Ability to establish and maintain effective, collegial working relationships with campus constituents along with the ability to work within a culturally diverse organization Physical Demands: Moderate lifting up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend and reach. Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment. Travel for work and travel for professional development is expected and will be supported where possible. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. |
