About the Role:
Seeking an experienced Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) to oversee pediatric nursing operations across General Pediatrics, PICU, and NICU service lines in a high-acuity hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 24-hour administrative oversight for pediatric nursing departments
Ensure staffing aligns with patient acuity and operational needs
Lead recruitment, orientation, and competency training for nursing staff
Conduct clinical rounds and chart audits for regulatory readiness
Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Promote family-centered care and cultural competence
Address patient and family concerns in a timely manner
Support compliance with DOH, CMS, and Joint Commission standards
Requirements & Preferred Skills:
Active New York RN license required
BSN required
Master’s Degree (MSN or Healthcare Administration) strongly preferred
Minimum 5–7 years pediatric or neonatal critical care experience required
Minimum 3 years leadership or supervisory experience required
BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
Strong experience in NICU, PICU, and pediatric critical care
Knowledge of regulatory and quality standards
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
